"I haven't had sex education classes and I didn't know how to get pregnant. I'd never had a boyfriend and I'd never heard of condoms."Proof that abstinence works.
A couple reasons:Mostly to demonstrate that these things really aren't as dangerous as they look, and that many people's extreme fears of them is rather irrational.Somewhat because it's kinda exciting (somewhat like riding a roller coaster or bungee jumping or motorcycle riding or hang gliding or base jumping; with a similar degree of dangerousness).

“So what you are saying is guilty until proven innocent? However, in THIS case -- she isn't repeating something someone said -- she is stating what happened to her. If saying "a McWilliams employe stabbed me" is defamation, when that employee stabbed you -- then we have a very, very screwed up justice system.Of course it wouldn't surprise me; we can prosecute Courtney love for a Twitter comment but we can't Audit Hank Paulson after he misplaced $9 Trillion, or prosecute war profiteering. The system is broken at the top -- let's see how it works out for a D-List celebrity.

Same could be said for dogs or cats. Only they cost more and probably aren't as smart as rats.!

I thought the holy grail of solar power was a system that saved you more money than you spent, and also didn't need rare natural resources to be made? |

We don't know what happened when the flying train jumped. We can just assume the train was vaporized or otherwise lost to the multiverse, therefore creating no new universe path traversals.

I live in Calgary, but I'm not planning on getting the shot until near December when stupid people stop worrying so much.Randy Marsh said it best: "I have SARS. There's only a 98% chance I'll survive." Different ailment, same concept. Stop worrying, people.

"Speaking from personal experience, the problem comes when people only treat the symptoms with anti-depressants, but don't dig further to deal with the underlying problems. Anti-depressants are wonderful drugs that have saved a lot of lives, but they only act as painkillers, they don't get to the root causes of the depression. That requires self-work, such as therapy, changes in lifestyle, and so on."This is not always the case. Sure, many people can successfully treat their depression through lifestyle changes and therapy, and those are of course the most preferred solutions since they don't have any side effects. For this reason, these things should always be tried first. However, not all cases of depression have root causes that are psychosocial in nature. With advances in the technology we use to look at the brain and with the help of longitudinal genetic studies, we're know acquiring a far better understanding of the biological basis for depression, and are now plainly seeing that some people are simply born with a brain that makes them prone to developing depression. For these people, entering therapy and striving to face their life troubles may not be enough. For these people, the root cause of their depression is a biological one, and psychopharmacological treatment is the best course of action in these cases.

@benroyYou are the one who needs to learn how to efficiently use Google. Allisonaxe is 100% correct. V was a mini-series in 1983 that ran for two 90 minute nights. It was followed by the sequel/last half of the story entitled 'V: The Final Battle' the following year in which it ran for three 90 minute nights.A crappy spinoff was created under a similar name which failed later that year, which is what I assume you were referring to. |
