| Don't like the fact that it can't run standard linux software. It has to use only the Java API that google provides, which makes it harder for developers to code for it, and harder for linux users to get software. Maemo is basically a Debian distro, which will run any linux software that supports a smaller GUI for mobil apps. |

We'll cut our carbon output as soon as they stop poaching for ivory and arming children with AK-47's.
A still more glorious dawn awaits us, not a sun-rise, but a galaxy-rise, a morning filled with 400 billion stars; the rising of the milky-way.

I'm glad to hear that they're putting such a high priority on realism, something Hollywood doesn't do too much these days. And Tom Hanks ftw..
Apple is locked in a battle to control its software+hardware on all fronts: Jailbreaking, Palm Pre vs. iTunes, and Hackintoshes. It seems a growing number of users are rebelling against the tight-fisted control that defines Apple and makes its products work so well with each other. I wonder if this is a side effect of attracting so many PC (and other users used to having more flexibility...) during the Vista years.!

Wow. Who knew they could be that cute??
I totally agree with you on the writing for the FBI. It's like all of them simultaneously have to act as dumb as the dumbest everyman, and in other moments be products of decades of specialized training and intelligence. The second episode, when they're trying to convince their boss' boss that the event wasn't an accident, one of the FBI agents' first piece of evidence is. "It happened at exactly 10 o'clock on the dot. The odds of that are 1 in 3600." That's a ***** anecdote. It's not compelling evidence at all, and furthermore, 1 in 3600 odds are really not that high. You're an FBI agent, not an Obama Birther. Your job requires you to have ACTUAL EVIDENCE, and you somehow think you should lead with that!? No wonder they're threatening to cut off your funding. |

"It is just like when they come to your house and ask if they can look around. "You are completely wrong on this. YOU DO NOT have to let police come into your apartment. Ask them for a search warrant. If they do not have one, they have no right to enter unless they have "probable cause" for that some illegal activity is taking place, for example if they can smell marijuana or hear beating and screaming in the apartment. The officers "hunch" that you are up to no good is NOT enough to give him legal right to enter your premise.

@vinod1978: No I still think it's a matter of degree. Consider doorstep spam, it may be completely unsolicited, or I may not have read the fine print somewhere. Sometimes it supports the postal service like radio ads support the stations. I never opted in to having a billboard put up on my route to work, or for some guy to come up to me pampheteering, or leaving crap under my windshield wiper. There may be a way to opt out of cold calls and faxes, but mostly, nobody asks if its OK first. Intrusive, unwelcome, unsolicited spam, the lot of it.

Muhammed, not Allah.I think it's safe to say that Muhammed existed. It's whether or not he talked to Allah and got a divine message from Allah that really matters. |
