| One of them is the President of the United States and one of them is a biased media pundit.Which one do you REALLY believe is more acceptable? Actually don't answer that. |

>Why fight someone because they spit on you? Its silly and it will get you arrested. It's not like this woman coughed on others, then someone hit her.No, she coughed on others then CONTINUED TO DO SO after being asked to cover her mouth. That IS assault right there.Even that was not enough... she had to spit on someone then run for the train door. That's a second assault.Perhaps she's mentally ill and not fit to be out unsupervised... because you just can't go around assaulting people with disease. That's ludicrous. Unless you commit other crimes, I can pretty much guarantee that responding to assault with violence is NOT a convict-able offense in most places, including the US. There's also a possibility for civil action.
Dude!!! How did you get that picture from my bathroom?;-)

Go for it guy! This lawsuit should've been filed decades ago when they started awarding patents for this nonsense..
"how they haven't let diabetes keep them from accomplishing their goals"Because pills or a daily insulin injection and watching what you eat really hinders you from functioning.!

lol I actually read all of these in sim voice....?
Heh, the title is crazy misleading. It's not that "50% of the kids in the US will receive food stamps" as in, at a single time. Instead it's "over the course of their lives, 50% of US kids will, at some point in their lives, receive food stamps" as in for a few months here and there.Frankly, the latter is exactly why the system exists. To provide temporary support for people out of work or in trouble. That's a good thing. The former, as in being completely dependent on the system and unable to provide for yourself, well that's never a good thing. |

I've always felt weird about digging stories like this, especially because the digg button turns to a cheery "dugg!" complete with exclamation point, after you click on it!

It all comes down to, people need to be informed, and people need to be able to make educated decisions. Caretakers, doctors, and family members need to not think that saying "everything will be alright" in the face of death always fixes everything. Sometimes, it makes things worse, and not just for the patient.I'm not saying that hope should be abandoned when it comes to serious cases. I'm saying that reality needs to play a part in a person's decisions on care that *might* save their life, but definitely *will* prolong their suffering. Since *might happen* happens a lot less often than *definitely will happen*, patients need realistic (but not necessarily cynical) information.

I'll sign up the day they let me, it'll leave me close to broke afterword, but I'll do it in a heartbeat. It may be dangerous, but really would you rather die by being hit by a bus, sick in bed, or a cool burn-up on atmospheric re-entry (looks way better on gravestone).
