If you want quality content that reports NEWS, someone will have to pay for it.Commercial TV and traditional newspapers, are more and more driven by their advertisers, or some corporate connection with interlocking directorates. You don't get reports on Corporate Crime anymore, or exposes on Monsanto's GM foods causing health problems.So I very much welcome Apple as the new news distributor - and if you don't think that sort of pay model will work -- we shall see. But I think you underestimate the demand for REAL content that isn't re-hashed AP newswire garbage at a reasonable price.I'd pay $10 bucks for a yearly subscription to a good news magazine and no trees would fall to do it. The Publisher, would likely make more with $6 a yearly subscription with no print and delivery costs than they do now.Maybe some might start out free -- but I think that's a bad business model for a healthy industry -- Apple started the iPod and iPhone as a premium product, and they haven't chased the bottom dollar for some time -- they upgrade the product and avoid it becoming a commodity.

My work ATT wireless is still using IE 6. Its quite annoying because it would make my job a lot easier if they had a browser that supported tabs instead of having 8 windows open.. |
