@rpgmakrThat's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How long you been doing this kid? If I'm a company that develops an application for mobile devices, how many API's do you think I'm going to want to support? If there is one API that works on say 70% of systems (iPhone's SDK), and another that works on 20% of systems (Python, Perl, C/C++, Java, all work on Maemo and almost all other Linux based Mobil devices), then there is this one offshoot that only supports their own non-standard version of Java, it's unlikely that I'm going to spend the millions of dollars it can take to build and support a totally separate codebase for that one offshoot. It's the same reason it took so many companies so long to write software for Mac. For the longest time Mac had less then 1% market share. It just wasn't cost effective, it had nothing to do with laziness. Once Mac started catching on, people started writing software for it. It the same thing with desktop Linux software (Linux has a huge market in both servers and mobile devices already). As long as desktop Linux has less than 1% market share, Adobe isn't going to write a Photoshop for Linux (and in that case, they'd really just have to recompile that Mac version, but it's still too expensive to support another release). See, this is why miket's question was a good question. He wanted me to at least give some reason why I don't like Android. I gave him a reason, he may not agree, but it is a valid point, even for a Google fanboy. Your statement was just a waste of energy for all involved. Ever hear the expression, "it's better to keep your mouth shut and have everyone think you're a fool, than to open your mouth and prove it?"
Which is -exactly- why the Telecoms in the US (Time Warner, Comcast, Cox, etc) are keeping the network speeds down, charging extra for internet if you cancel cable TV, and setting bandwidth caps.If our internet access was modern, we wouldn't need their TV offerings anymore.

“The bottom line. DNA should not be patentable. Such patents are treated as property claims akin to a land grab. Do you know why? Because DNA is in all living things and easily obtainable. These patents are simply a tool to limit competition in an unintended way. There's no invention being created, therefore no patent should be awarded. If someone creates a new process or product that makes use of DNA then that's what is patentable. However, that should not prevent some other person from creating an alternative process or product that acts on the same DNA. The patent system needs reform.

Music industry would be worse off without iTunes. They refused to come up with a workable online purchasing system of their own and as a result Napster was drinking their milkshake. iTunes stepped in and filled the void and, because of the iPod's popularity, got many people buying digital music.Of course the music industry is greedy and was pissed at iTunes $.99 price point but eventually they negotiated for three price points (in practice only two, still haven't seen a song I'd want for the $.75). In exchange many distributors agreed to remove DRM.I don't care if you like/hate Apple (I'm on the fence) but let's keep the history correct. If I missed something let me know.?
This is true. |

I don't really understand some of these. The first one especially. They put in an i7 but only a 4850 graphics card? Don't get me wrong, the 4850s are pretty decent. But why are you skimping there and putting in an overpowered cpu? You can get a $60 cpu that won't bottleneck on any current game. The 4850 at higher resolutions on the other hand...The i7s really only start to justify their costs when you start talking about video editing or other more complex programs. Which they're pretty much a necessity for. But, if you're only gaming it's really just spending a couple extra hundred simply to say you have an i7 in your system.

You made me facepalm, greengoo, but rizzo2008 already pointed it out. A fuel cell generates electricity. A fuel cell car IS an EV.
